Newpowa X Pacific Discovery

Part 6: 2022 Recap & 2023 Framework

As we pass the halfway mark of our 11-Part Newpowa X Pacific Discovery series, we would like to provide a recap of the past five articles, as well as provide a framework for the next five. We’ve only hit the middle stage of Pacific Discovery, so stick around and let’s jump right into this!

At the beginning of this series, we discussed a multitude of topics including an “Introduction to Pacific Discovery” and “About the Cause & How You Can Support”. We also shed some light on “The Sea Crew & Land Crew” in conjunction with “The Vessel & Route”. Lastly, we covered “Our Commitment to the Cause & the Importance of Mental Health”.

But before we talk about what’s to come, let’s quickly summarize what we’ve covered over the past five months. Pacific Discovery is made up of a unique group of individuals from different walks of life, all striving towards a common goal. Their goal as a team and organization is very special as they seek to help those in need.

This leads us to the cause. The special cause behind this magnificent voyage is to help those who are experiencing challenges with their mental well-being. This is especially the “reason why” for Pacific Discovery, as well as for all of us here at Newpowa as we are committed to helping shine a light on mental health awareness for those who experience it every day.

Now, let’s talk about the crew. Andrei is the brains of the team. When he is not practicing for the Pacific Discovery, Andrei works as a software developer and engineer for a company in Switzerland. Cam has been there and done that! At least when it comes to rowing across an ocean since he is the only team member to do so and let’s just say he wants another chance to do it again. Tia is fascinated with anything to do with water and nature in general. She is also a huge fan of outdoor adventures and is happiest when exploring. Lastly, we have Stuart, a man who loves everything about sailing. Having served his homeland, the United Kingdom, as a Naval Engineer in the Royal Navy, he could not pass up the chance to accomplish the Pacific Discovery challenge.

Let’s now talk about their Vessel & Route. The vessel being used by the sea crew is a modified ocean rowboat specifically built to withstand the ruthlessness of the open ocean. The race will then begin at the historic harbor of Monterey, on the Northern coast of California. From there, they will row 2,800 miles across the Pacific Ocean, all the way to Nawiliwili, Hawaii.

Finally, let’s discuss our commitment to this important cause. Our Corporate Social Responsibilities are centered around causes that have ethical importance and intention, as is the case with Pacific Discovery and their support of the organization, Mind, which focuses on bringing awareness to Mental Health.

As we close out this recap of the past 5 blogs, let’s briefly talk about what’s to come. We’ll be covering “The Sea Crew Training Regimen” and “How Is the Sea Crew Doing”. We’ll then cover “What Preparations Are Underway”, “What Makes Newpowa X Pacific Discovery a Great Partnership”, and lastly, we’ll cover the “Vessels’ Arrival & Last-Minute Bulletins” before the race starts on June 12th of 2023.

For the next five months, stay tuned for even more new and amazing information related to this amazing team and partnership.
