CONNECTING BATTERIES OVER A DISTANCE - IS IT RECOMMENDED?

One question that often arises is whether it's recommended that you connect batteries over a distance or not. In this blog, we'll explore this issue and provide you with some valuable insights.

Before we begin, it's important to note that some batteries may only accept either series or parallel wiring. So, it's always important to verify with the manufacturer in regard to its accepted wiring.

If the batteries are located too far apart, it then becomes difficult for the electricity to flow smoothly. This can result in several problems, with one of the main ones being extreme power loss. Additionally, a good rule of thumb is that more distance means more voltage drop.

Moreover, when batteries are connected over a distance, they may be subject to interference from external factors such as extreme heat or cold. This can affect their performance and durability. This is also why we recommend placing your batteries in a cool and controlled environment.

Given all this, it's clear that connecting batteries over a distance is not recommended. In fact, most manufacturers of batteries explicitly state in their manuals that connecting batteries over a distance is not advisable. They recommend that batteries should be kept in close proximity to one another and connected using proper equipment like wiring, connectors, and fuses.
